Know Yourself Check (KYC)
A privacy-first background check from Internet Erasure & IYE Global
The first KYC of its kind, conducted for you and to benefit you
Many of us are checked for Know Your Client (KYC) requirements, Fit and Proper Person tests, Sanctions and PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) lists, AML (Anti-Money Laundering) rules, as well as CIFAS and numerous other databases. Sometimes we don't even know these checks are being carried out and we don't always know what information is being held on us and passed on - that is the difference between open-source and closed-source information.
The problem
By the time you reach this stage in a life-changing application, you have likely already invested months of effort, personal commitment, and significant sums of money, and yet could still fall at the last hurdle, often through no fault of your own.
The solution
Internet Erasure’s Know Yourself Check turns the process on its head. We equip you with the knowledge of what is “out there” about you before you commit your time, money, and reputation.
Why you might need this
Data collection and sharing have grown exponentially, to the point that very few of us know what information is actually held about us, or where it is stored.
The most damaging category is adverse media or harmful information, which can silently affect your life:
- A last-minute refusal of finance, even after you have passed all lender checks.
- Being refused entry into another country at the border.
- Sudden dismissal during a job probation period, without explanation, despite excellent performance.
- Rejection as a buyer of a property, with no disclosed reason.
- Being ghosted by someone you thought was a perfect relationship match.
These are not rare. They are the real-life cases we have seen.
Whether you are pursuing a business deal, applying for investment capital, preparing for dispute resolution, applying for banking facilities, or going for a new role, exposing previously unidentified risk or threat to your personal, commercial, or financial circumstances allows you to move forward with confidence, and gain the upper hand.
Case study
Situation
A director of a well-established firm with substantial wealth, a sound credit rating, and no criminal record or adverse media, was continually declined personal and commercial banking facilities without explanation.
Investigation
Our enquiries uncovered that his identity had been cloned and used to make multiple banking, credit, and loan applications overseas. Accounts were also opened in three cryptocurrency exchanges to facilitate large-scale fraud and money laundering. The case was part of an ongoing police investigation.
Outcome
Clear evidence of misrepresentation enabled our client to prove his innocence, and he has since secured banking facilities without a hitch.
